Xiaomi YU7: new electric SUV with 681 hp promises to rival Tesla and Ferrari (X @leijun)
Xiaomi has unveiled the YU7, its new electric SUV, designed to compete with models like the Tesla Model Y.
The launch is expected by July 2025, with an estimated price ranging from $34,700 to $41,300.
Equipped with two electric motors, the YU7 delivers a total power output of 681 hp, reaching a top speed of 253 km/h. The range varies between 700 and 830 km, depending on the chosen battery pack.
The YU7’s design is inspired by luxury models like the Ferrari Purosangue, featuring a muscular hood and a coupe-style rear. The SUV also includes retractable door handles, triangular headlights, and rear lights connected by an illuminated bar. In terms of size, the YU7 is larger than the Tesla Model Y, measuring 4.99 meters in length and weighing 2,405 kg.
Inside, the YU7 is expected to feature a large 3K-resolution multimedia center and the ADAS Xiaomi Pilot Max system, which offers driver assistance.
Xiaomi aims to replicate the success of its first electric car, the SU7 sedan, which sold nearly 90,000 units in 24 hours. The focus now is on how Chinese consumers will receive the YU7.
